Dance Classic Edit- The Hollies'"Draggin' My Heels" (Social Disco Club Extended Edit) MP3 DL

MINDLESS BOOGIE (THE LOVIN' SPOONFUL / THE HOLLIES) - Mindless Boogie #14 - Summer In The City / Draggin' My Heels - 12" vinyl - Mindless Boogie
Dance Classic Edit- The Hollies'"Draggin' My Heels" (Social Disco Club Extended Edit)
Mindless Boogie 014 (October, 2008)

Yo!  Back from a hiatus (there is a psycho in our neighborhood and he is really throwing off our good summer vibes), I am here to return the mojo to Lowertown with an all time loft/dance classic from The Hollies!  This is an extended and mixable edit of their breezy summer jam "Draggin' my Heels" tastefully done up by edit masters, Social Disco Club!  No funny business, just nice extensions holding true to the original in all ways.

This download includes the full vinyl release of Mindless Boogie's edit 12" number 14, the flip side of which is an extended edit of The Lovin' Spoonful's "Summer in the City" by the dude Peter Visti.  All of these edits are from 2008 and probably out of print (and probably on a million other Blogspots that are way more popular than mine, but who cares)!

Enjoy and crank it up- hopefully on a smart dancefloor!

BEAUTIFUL MUSIC DISCOVERIES 5/27/11: RAINY DAY SPECIAL

Transmitting live from a rainy and cold spring afternoon here in Lowertown, St. Paul.  I just discovered two new musical gems I would like to share, especially because they sound just like how this day look and feels here.  From progressive seventies country to Peruvian psych rock boys doin' their version of lovers' rock, I present today's beautiful music discoveries.

I found both of these jams after googling into some unknown music I was hearing on a Parisian house record label dude's mix of all places.

The mix is by the dude who runs "My Love is Underground", which is a deep 90s style house record label in Paris.  Here is the mix ("Beauty Pt. 2") with my selected tracks buried within:

Underground Paris - Beauty Pt.2 by Underground Paris

The songs I like most are as follows:

1.) Rusty Wier- "Silly Rhymes"

Rusty was a dude who lived and played in Austin, Texas throughout his career.  He died in 2009.  He's kind of an under the radar dude, so learning about this via a Parisian house dude's mix was kind of convoluted.  Please enjoy this BEAUTIFUL gem.

2.) TELEGRAPH AVENUE-"Happy"

These Peruvian hippy boys knock it out the park on this one!  If I am happy, well...nobody is able to tell me I am wrong!  Love this jam.  Again, please mellow out and enjoy wherever you may be.

Indie Book Spotlight: "Booke of Logos" by Daniel Thomas Wieken (Uncivilized Bookes, 2011, Minneapolis)

Indie Book Spotlight: "Booke of Logos" by Daniel Thomas Wieken (Uncivilized Bookes, 2011, Minneapolis)

I live near a gentleman named Dan Wieken based out of Lowertown, St. Paul, MN, and he published an amazing tiny book(e) of hand drawn logos that he designed on spec for some of the world's elite!  Personally, I think he is a goddamned genius and these folks should jump right on the bandwagon and use these tasteful and market-ready designs for whatever campaign they are planning next!

Please contact this artist/publisher at : http://www.danwieken.com/ for more art and information.

The publisher can be reached at http://www.uncivilizedbooks.com/

I'm so into this stuff, I feel like a straight up fanboy when I see this guy walking around the neighborhood.

Enjoy a few samples (all images copyright the author, Daniel Wieken, 2011, of course)

A design for Oprah!

Bono (this one rules so hard)

Jersey Shore for their season 666 campaign!

Rad stuff, Dan!
